[Preview] Romantic World 31+

Animate has a preview of Jun Fukuyama's Romantic World 31 limited edition box. This includes an additional illustration/portrait by CLAMP. The album will be out November 26th.

There will also a 2009 CLAMP Winter Fair scheduled for November 17-December 20th at Animate. If this is like previous Animate fairs, they will have new CLAMP goods for sale (like clear files, shitajiki, cell phone toys, etc). And here's a sample of a new Kobato. anime clear file that seems to be out now for the Kobato. museum event next weekend.

[Preview] CLAMP 2010 calendar

Here's a quick peek at the CLAMP 2010 desktop calendar. Most of you have already seen these illustrations from their release of the CLAMP no kiseki mooks. This will be released next week.

Maaya Sakamoto and Megumi Nakajima are expected to perform the Kobato. theme songs at Music Japan's 2nd Anison Special November 12th. (For a more complete listing of the artists click here)

Kodansha's release schedule updated to add xxxHolic Volume 16 for sale December 26th 22nd (kodansha changed the date). (no word on the OAD edition though)

[Review] Kobato. Episode 1

Kobato. 1! A very un-Mary Poppins comes down to earth to heal human hearts as that is her price to get someplace.

+ Dancing Wish bunny-fairies
+/- So-so animation
+ Cute seiyuu cast, cute op/ed/insert songs

Quick impression~ Kobato is an okay manga series. It lacks the amount of cute that I think it should exude. Hopefully the anime production gives us a little more development. Madhouse's anime production could be more consistent as some scenes are nice while others, so 1980's. I was very amused at Fujimoto's Zorro-esque guitar background music. I'm not going to review all the episodes here, but the series has potential as long as the cuteness level gets pumped up to where it should be.

Presepe.jp has an interview with the cast of Kobato. Kana Hanazawa(Kobato), Tetsu Inada(Oryogi), Tomoaki Maeno(Fujimoto), Fumiko Orikasa(Sayaka), Megumi Nakajima(Mihara twins), Chiwa Saito(Kohaku), and the director, Mitsuyuki Masuhara, answer a handful of questions.
